Dining Out in Scarborough - Hidden Gems
17/09/2013
Scarborough is full of restaurants and cafes, including the large chains you will see at home. Why not try one of the hidden gems of Scarborough, known and used by the locals who know best.
Deli Delicious – Located in Scarborough Market Hall, Deli Delicious is a fantastic little Deli serving freshly baked pies, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and arguably the best breakfast in Scarborough. Prices are hard to beat with a Mega Breakfast containing Sausages, Bacon, Eggs, Beans, Tomatoes, Fried Toast, and Bread & Butter costing a measly £3.90.
Deli Delicious even has a small coffee lounge serving freshly ground, award winning Italian Coffee and other hot drinks. They also have a selection of oils, chutneys, jams and breads available for purchase.
Deli Delicious is certainly worth a look next time you are near Scarborough Market Hall.
La Piazza – This small, authentic Italian Café is located on Huntriss Row just down from McDonalds. Serving freshly cooked pizza, pasta and a regularly updated specials menu. The pizzas are the best I have tasted in Scarborough and service is quick, making it an ideal lunch time treat. Prices are very reasonable with pizzas starting at only £3.55.

Eat Me Café – Hidden at the top of the town centre on Hannover Road, Eat Me Café is possibly not a hidden gem anymore. It has recently been voted the Best Café in Britain by Morrison’s and featured in the BBC Good Food Guide.
Eat Me Café describe themselves as a proper British Caff, with a pinch of Asia and served with a big old dollop of style. Who can argue with dishes ranging from Thai Curries to traditional Steak Pie and Mash. You can even take the food home with you at Eat Me @ Home which is an urban farm shop next door to the café.
