Plan Your Stay: Understanding Pitch Choices
26/06/2024
Unsure what type of pitch you need to book, or have a unique camper/tent type? We've listed all of the most popular types of tent, caravan and camper - find yours and what pitches you can book with us.
Touring Caravan
Tourers are caravans towed by a car and can be single or twin axles. We accept both types up to a maximum length of 26ft. Tourers can be booked onto our Super Pitches with electric hook up, water, waste and TV hook-up.
Motorhome
Motorhomes are purpose-built self-drive caravans, sometimes with their own bathroom facilities and bedrooms. Motorhomes have the most freedom of choice on our pitches as they can either go on our electric hard-standing Super Pitches, or the non-electric grass camping field. Our Super Pitches take up to a maximum length of 26ft.
Tent
Tents include all types of regular camping tent setups including two-man tents, large family-size tents with awnings and tipis. You can book these onto our grass pitches, either with electric hook-up (7m x 7m size limit) or without (no size limit).
Campervan
Campervans include all variety of vans from small VW campers to self-converted Sprinter-type vans. You can book these on most of our pitch types. Book a grass pitch without electric for the most freedom to pitch wherever you like or with friends in tents, or one of our hard standing Super Pitches with electric hook up. When booking on our website choose 'motorhome' as your unit type for a campervan.
Trailer Tent/Folding Camper
These unit types are any towed trailer or camper which folds up and has canvas sides. These are all classed as tents on our sites and so can only go on either the grass electric hook-up pitches or grass non-electric pitches. These cannot go on any of our hard standing pitches.
Roof Tent
Roof tents sit on top of your car or van and come in a box. These are classed the same as regular tents so they can be booked onto our electric or non-electric grass pitches.
Teardrop Camper
These small teardrop-shaped campers are towed behind a car and are on wheels. Because of this they are put into the same category as touring caravans, so they can only be booked onto our hard standing Super Pitches and not on the grass.
Still unsure how your unit identifies? Feel free to send us an enquiry or give us a call for more information to avoid booking the wrong pitch type.
