If you’re looking for a day out from Crows Nest, Bridlington is the perfect resort for all the family with award-winning beaches stretching for miles. It’s situated south of Filey, just a 20 minute trip by road from us. Here you can enjoy a traditional family holiday, get your toes in the sand and make sandcastles, paddle or tuck into the famous local fish and chips. The north and south beaches and promenade are great for traditional seaside activities while the busy working harbour provides a colourful scene.
The promenade is perfect for families - lined with arcades, fairground rides and indoor play areas. There’s something to enjoy here no matter what the weather. Bridlington Forum, based on the sea front, also holds its own indoor bowling alley and cinema beyond its vast arcade attractions.
Aside from the beach and seaside style town, Bridlington is filled with attractions for all. Here’s a few we recommend.
East Riding Leisure - This cost-friendly indoor leisure centre holds a large pool, splash zone for the younger kids and two high-speed slides. And if you don’t fancy a swim, there’s the Clip n Climb wall to try too, or relax in the centre’s cafe for food or drinks.
The Model Village - Check out Bridlington’s biggest secret attraction; the Bondville Model Village. Hidden behind trees on the top of Sewerby Cliffs, this magical little kingdom with hand crafted gardens, cottages and shops is waiting to be explored. You can get here using the town’s land trains regular service - ask for the model village stop.
RSPB Bempton Cliffs - The nearby towering chalk cliffs at Bempton host an estimated half a million seabirds between March and October, including adorable puffins, guillemots, razorbills and majestic gannets. The sight, sounds and smells of the UK’s largest mainland seabird colony make for an unforgettable experience.
Bridlington Spa - 2019 sees Brid Spa host a huge range of shows throughout the year including tribute acts, kid’s shows, comedy and pantomimes. The Spa is located perfectly for stunning views across the bay, along with a perfect mix of Edwardian and Art Deco architecture inside.
Bridlington is famous for its fish and chips too so don’t leave without giving them a try. If you’re looking for a bit of history, Sewerby Hall is a great spot here too - expect stunning recently refurbished Edwardian interiors and a stunning Georgian exterior. There’s even a zoo with penguins here too!
There’s tons more activities and attractions in Bridlington too. Be sure to check out Discover Yorkshire’s website for more ideas.
