Scarborough Surf Festival
The annual surf festival is popular with locals and tourists, with surfing lessions and classes for all abilities and ages, yoga classes on the beach, and a display of VW campervans along the promenade.
Whatever your ability and confidence level on the water, you will be able to participate in tons of activities during this annual festival on Scarborough's beautiful North Bay.
A popular year-round spot for keen surfers, the bay attracts huge waves for the thrill-seekers while also offering calmer waters just out from the beach for the beginners. And if you don't fancy getting on the real waves, there's a surf simulator too!
The festival has a host of other activities to enjoy too, with beach yoga sessions, sand art building classes and an adventurous climing wall. There's plenty of options for snacks too with a homemade pizza van and classic seaside treats like ice-cream.
The event is accompanied by a display of VW campervans that line up along the North Bay promenade to celebrate their 'surfer life' roots.
